Demystifying the Bandhas

Sat 27.11.  10 – 0:30 am

Bandhas are a set of yoga techniques known as “locks” or “seals”. They are commonly used in Hatha and Ashtanga yoga to support the physical postures (asana) and to seal in the breath and Prana (life force energy) as well as to help draw kundalini upward.

Join Rebecca Hajek for a 2-hour experiential workshop where you will explore the theory and practical application of the three primary bandhas: mula bandha- root lock, uddiyana bandha -navel lock, jalandhara- throat lock and the combination of all three- Maha Bandha.

Come to increase your understanding, awareness and use of bandhas to help you deepen your practice.

Myths of the Asanas

Sun  28.11.  11 am – 1:30 pm

As yoga practitioners we assume poses and familiarize ourselves with their Sanskrit names like Hanumanasana (splits) and chakrasana (wheel) without fully understanding the meaning behind it.

Myths of the Asanas allows us to delve deeper into the roots of the spiritual tradition by learning the stories behind the postures, thus increasing mental and spiritual benefits beyond just the physical.

Take a journey into the pages of the Mahabharata and Ramayana- India’s sacred texts through movement and story-telling in order to enhance your yogic path. This 2 hour workshop allows us to bridge the wisdom of the ancient stories to modern day lessons that we can practically apply to our daily lives.
